Customizing the MFA verification code email (reseller console)

Reseller console · MFA

When multi-factor authentication (MFA) is active, users receive their one-time verification code by email. As a reseller, you can customize this email — its name, subject and content — so it matches your brand, directly from your reseller console. This guide shows you where to find the template and how to edit it.

Reseller feature only
Customizing this email is only possible for resellers, from the reseller console. This option is not available on client accounts — the users of a client account always receive the email as defined by their reseller (or the default Agendize template).
Where to find this template?
In your reseller console, open the Message templates menu. In the mode selector, switch from Appointment scheduling to User account management, then open the template Multi-factor authentication - Verification code.

Editing the template step by step

  1. In the reseller console, open Message templates.
  2. In the mode selector, choose User account management (the MFA template is not listed under Appointment scheduling).
  3. Click the template Multi-factor authentication - Verification code: the editor opens with three fields — Name, Subject (default: “Verification code”) and the content (rich text editor).
  4. Make your changes, then click Save.
Important
Keep the {code} placeholder! It is automatically replaced by the one-time verification code in the email the user receives. If you remove it, your users will get an email without any code and won't be able to sign in.
Good to know
Verification codes expire after 5 minutes. We recommend keeping a sentence mentioning this in the email body (the default template already includes it), so users enter their code right away.

Reverting to the default template

Once a template has been customized, a reset icon appears next to it in the template list. Click it to discard your customization and restore the default Agendize template. The icon disappears once the template is back to its default state.

Who receives this email?

This template is used for the verification code emails sent to the users of your client accounts whenever they sign in with MFA or enable it on their profile. Your customization applies to all your client accounts.
